About
Fliquid Studios is built on an ongoing passion for well structured, standards compliant loving developers, Michael Little and Christian Biggins. The idea behind Fliquid Studios has been brewing for a few years and has only recently become more than just an idea.
About Michael Little GDip CSEM
Michael Little has been developing software (predominantly web-based) for approximately 7 years now. He originally started an Information Technology career by falling into a role as an administrator for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system written in Delphi. It was while working on this system that he learned the basics of SQL (Using MS SQL 7). Once the work on the ERP dried up he was set to learn all about web development from the “webmaster” at the time (Back in the days when people still used that term). However, circumstances changed and he was again thrust into a new role and forced to learn HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP and MySQL very quickly without assistance.
Since then Michael has moved on and spent many years growing his knowledge of various languages and software development in general. Michael has obtained a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Software Engineering Management (2008) at the University of Technology, Sydney and plans to continue growing his skills and experience in the software field for years to come.
Over the past 7 years Michael has worked on numerous projects in various fields. Some of these projects include Content Management Systems (CMS); Emergency Management (NSW Government, security related); Communications Systems (SMS, Email Voice & Fax); and real estate agent software. Michael also maintains a personal website, WRT Design.
Michael has a strong eye for detail and maintain strict standards (sometimes too much so) of clean, simple, well documented code. He strongly believes in the importance of good design and the re-usability of software. He is an avid supporter of the Open Source community, a user of Linux and in the future hopes to contribute something valuable (in terms of software) back to this community.
About Christian Biggins
Christian Biggins started working in the internet industry doing technical support for a large ISP in Sydney. During this time he built several websites for himself and friends (including Skylines Australia which is now one of Australias largest automotive sites with almost 50,000 registered members).
After working in support for 4 years and dabbling in web development, Christian went on to start his own business doing development for small businesses. During this time he developed custom content management systems (CMS), shopping carts and even small search engines. This started a strong passion for strongly technical oriented development in PHP, MySQL and using strong javascript reliant front end effects.
When Christians wife fell pregnant in 2006, Christian found a job doing intranet development at the same company as Michael Little and together they worked on several large cutting-edge projects. It was not until December 2008 when both Christian and Michael were made redundant from their second job together that they received the required push to build their own company creating beautiful web applications.
He also owns and maintains two blogs, a technical based blog at ChristianBiggins.com and a blog on sustainability at SustainMyself.com.
